Regina Martinelli is the Great Grandaughter of the Original Jackass, aka the executive vice president of Martinelli Winery & Vineyards. The Martinelli family has been growing grapes in the Russian River Valley since the 1880s. At the ages of 19 & 16, Giuseppe Martinelli & Luisa Vellutini eloped from their small village in Tuscany and made their way to California. They earned enough money to buy a vineyard that would later become Jackass Hill Vineyard. In this show you’ll find out why and how it got its name. Since then, the family continues to grow grapes, sell them, and make their own wine. Today, Lee Jr., George, Julianna, and Regina continue a beautiful legacy of caretakers of the land. This is a story about the dream of a young Italian dreamer…and the girl who fell in love with him and left her home to pursue that dream. Enjoy!
